About

I'll never quit writing, and draw upon my own experiences as a teenager, and later as a father and teacher to give me ideas for my stories. As a longtime Arizonan, my own grasp of desert living gives me inspiration as well.

I'm a gym rat who enjoys trail running, hiking, hunting, fishing and camping.  I have published work in the Denver Post, North Country Life Magazine, and the Blue Guitar Magazine online.  I have also created several educational products for Remedia Publications, which is located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

When I think of writing, and like to think of what makes a story great- the possibility, the audacity to face challenges head on, the beauty of the common characters in life.  That's what I strive for.

Rejection Tracker
Total: 3

I read somewhere that J.K. Rowling had 32 rejections before she sold Harry Potter. SO I'm going for 33!  Count along with me! I hope this isn't an exercise in futility.  But after that, maybe I'll look into self-publishing.

The journey continues! I'm excited to announce that two of my short stories are appearing in the upcoming Fall edition of The Blue Guitar Magazine in October.  Check them out!:

All For One - They're the nerds, and the cool kids call them the  '3 Musketeers', and it's not a good thing.  Still, they join forces with the Star Quarterback and discover a lost gold mine.

Home To Chiricahua- Forced from his home when his family is captured with Geronimo, an Apache boy is shipped far away from his Chircahuas to St. Petersburg, Florida.  But, he manages to make it back home.

Blog

Random thoughts on whatever is pertinent.  My own thoughts on writing, life, and whatever pops into my head.  Disjointed, messy, and really with no purpose other than that this is what I'm thinking about.  Ramblings of an aspiring American writer.
